Fees

The 1 %, the creator ramp, the referrer share, the platform share

1 % of every trade, never more. Buys and sells alike. That is the entire fee, split three ways.

The grid

One grid, shared by every market, read from the factory on every trade.

CreatorTrader's referrerPlatform
0.70 %, for life0.10 %0.20 %

All figures are percentages of traded volume, taken out of the single 1 % fee.

With no referrer, the referrer's 0.10 % goes to the platform, which then keeps 0.30 %.

The creator's share does not depend on the size of the market, on its age, or on when a trade lands. There is no slide, no tier, no threshold. What a creator is told on the day they open a market is what they are still paid a year later.

The creator's share is flat, and that is the point

A share that shrinks as a market grows punishes the one outcome everybody wants. A creator who succeeds watched their cut fall from 0.60 % to 0.30 % precisely as their market became worth talking about — a promise that got worse the better they did.

0.70 %, for life, whatever happens. It is a number a creator can repeat to someone else without a footnote, and that is most of its value.

Their real pay is still the seat. 10 USD on an empty market is worth 13,288 USD at a 100,000 USD reserve and 63,250 USD at 1,000,000 USD, several times over every creator fee that market will ever pay. The fee is the wage; the seat is the upside.

The referrer is the only share paid on performance

0.10 % of every trade made by anyone who arrived through your link, on every market, for 90 days, renewed on each new click. Last click wins.

A creator who shares their own market's card with their own referral link stacks both, for 0.80 % of the volume they generate.

Mechanics: Referrals.

The verified talent

Once the person a market is about claims their profile and clears identity verification, the creator share splits 50/50 with them, from the next trade on.

  • Never retroactive. Fees accrued before the claim stay with the creator.
  • No escrow. Nothing is withheld against a claim that never arrives.
  • The claim is recorded by the admin after off-chain verification, and re-issued only to rotate the talent's key.

Payout

  • The platform share transfers to the treasury at trade time.
  • Creator, talent and referrer shares accrue inside the market contract and are withdrawn by their recipient with claimFees().

Pull, not push: a recipient whose wallet cannot receive dollars blocks nobody else's trading. Accrued fees are tracked apart from the reserve, and the contract's balance is always at least reserve + fees owed.

claimFees() is blocked by neither pause level.

Changing the grid

The grid is a versioned preset on the factory. Replacing it is one admin call (setCurvePreset) and no redeployment: the address holds, the indexer holds.

It reaches every market, including the ones already open. A market asks the factory for the split at the moment it divides a fee, rather than carrying a copy made on the day it was born. One setting, one place, no market left behind on an old grid.

One number is exempt, on purpose: the 1 % total. It is frozen at each market's birth and no admin call can raise it. That is what the trader agreed to when they opened the market, and charging more after the fact is not a setting we are willing to have. Only the split of that 1 % is live.

If the factory ever stops answering, each market falls back to the grid copied at its birth and the trade goes through. A fee grid can never block an exchange.
